ON THIS DAY: April 16, 1972 ๐ฐ
The Inaugural Spring Sizzler dealt the perfect hand to Fred DeSarro, who passed Ed Flemke with 10 laps to go in the event after a water pump broke on Flemke`s car.
Despite the threat of weather throughout the weekend, the event was considered extremely successful and launched a storied legacy that continues today. We thank you all for supporting the event 53 years later!

ON THIS DAY: April 15, 1973 ๐ฐ
Ed Flemke holds off Fred DeSarro to win the 2nd annual Spring Sizzler, triumphing over the event after mechanical failure forced him to pit from the lead with 10 laps to go in the inaugural running.
Usually when somebody`s door number is facing you head on, it`s not a good sign. ๐ณ
Luckily Paul Varricchio wheeled it out of four and kept it pointed straight down the front stretch!
